Q: Which truck should I choose, 2008 Honda Ridgeline or 2008 silverado 1500 crew 4wd?
I want a dependable and rugged truck for outdoor versatility and both seem to be great trucks.

A: Your not gonna get a rugged truck that has outdoor versatility when it is 4wheel independent suspension... The GM truck in question can carry more, pull more, has a longer bed, and can get better fuel economy. The only thing the Honda has that is neat in my eyes is a rear differential locker is standard equipment (it needs it with the lack of suspension flex). Get the GM if you want a truck.

Q: 2008 Honda Ridgeline vs. 2008 Chevy Avalanche?
Which do you think would be a better truck to buy,and Honda Ridgeline or a Chevy Avalanche? Which one do you think will last me the longest? Anybody have a bad experience with one of these trucks? Thanks!!

A: GM stock plunged to their lowest levels in decades, my friend tried to trade in his Tahoe in California and the dealer would not even consider it at any price, he said he had a lot full of H2's and large SUV's does not need another one. Go with the Honda without any hesitation, or wait till the diesel version comes out late next year.

Q: Has anyone tried Metra iPod Honda Adapter?
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra-iPod-Honda-Adapter/sem/rpsm/oid/185489/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do i wanna hook up my ipod to my car its a 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL (wtf its the best model and i dont get an ipod adapter??!!!) i wanna find a good cheap solution so that my in-dash cd changer still works and i would like it if i can control the ipod through my steering wheel controls

A: The '08s don't have the MP3-AUX input? I know the '09s do. Metra works great but be prepared to crank up the volume. It's not as loud as the radio or CD player. Also, you will probably have to unhook the satellite radio so you can use that input. And you won't be able to use the steering wheel controls with Metra.

Q: looking for cheap way to hook up ipod to my car?
im looking for a really cheap way to hook up my ipod so i can listen to it while driving (NO FM TRANSMITTER!!!!!) i have an amp can i get RCA input to 3.5 input and hook the ipod to the amp??? its a 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL no navi

A: I found the best thing since sliced bread...http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9oDEWuNVIo6/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=142FMMOD01 It's not wireless so there's no interference. Not to be confused with an FM transmitter. Basically it adds an AUX input to ANY radio. No searching for a clean channel. It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. It comes with an On/Off switch. This is the answer. Totally versatile. Here's one in action - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHBI0LBGhR0

Q: 2008 honda fit sport price in OC?
i'm looking to trade in my ridgeline for the fit sport, but heard about the markup price. anyone just bought one recently? please advice me with the price. I want the manual sport at MSRP $15270. Can I cut 12% off that or NO? any advice for honda dealer in Orange county, ca? thanks J ridiculous, oc honda world marks up the price to $18K. I'm not gonna pay that much for the FIT, crazy. I'm going to keep my RIDGELINE instead.

A: There isn't a dealer in America that is discounting a Fit of any description. The Fit is at a 6 day supply nationwide. Civic supply isn't much better. There is a higher supply of Accords but those too are hot product in the 4 cylinders. I can tell you from experience that Community Honda in Whittier was the only dealer who would discount when supply was not the issue. I happen to be a big fan of Norm Reeves Honda in Huntington Beach as they are a stand-up dealer with great service. Wesloh in San Juan Capistrano is the only dealer the comes close to them for service. To me, a local dealer with great service is worth the difference. I think you'll find that the Civics and Fits are going for list; some dealers are putting surcharges on them because they are buying the cars at dealer auctions and paying over list because the cars are in such high demand. hope that helps

Q: whats the difference between a SUT and a truck?
im trying to figure out what the hell my car is they keep changing it from mid-size truck, SUT, and now for 09' its a full size truck, no change is size has been made from what i understand a SUT is a truck with a bed thats attached no seams and a truck is a cab and a separate bed its a 2008 Honda Ridgeline

A: SUV, SUT, CUV, etc., are all just silly name classifications made up by marketing people and car magazines. Your Ridgeline is a unibody pickup truck based on the Honda Pilot SUV, which is also a unibody design (...confusing, huh?) Your Ridgeline differs from something like a Chevy Silverado or Ford F150 or Toyota Tundra in that it is a unibody constructed vehicle (like a car). Silverados, F150s and Tundras etc., have a body-on-frame design with a ladder frame running underneath the truck instead of the body and frame being "1 piece" like your Ridgeline. Your Ridgeline's unibody design sacrifices some of the ruggedness of a body-on-frame design of a conventional pickup truck for the improved ride, handling, and comfort benefits of using a unibody design versus a body-on-frame design. As far as what your Ridgeline is called, I'd call it a pickup truck because it's got an open bed on the back and leave it at that.

Q: battery run down protector and sound system?
i think my truck has a battery run down protector on it (2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL) and i have a small sound system in there that uses a Profile AP400 amp if im waiting for something in the parking lot can i put the car on ACC and listen to music or will my battery die??

A: i have a large amp and no protector and i can go for an hour or so. you can listen for awhile and if its been 15 or 20 min start it up for a min. or 2

Q: has anyone tried SOUNDGATE AUXHOND3?
i wanna hook up my ipod to my car its a 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL (wtf its the best model and i dont get an ipod adapter??!!!) i wanna find a good cheap solution so that my indash cd changer still works and i would like it if i can control the ipod through my steering wheel controls

A: there is NO good CHEAP way to get ipod integration of that kind. the soundgate is a great product, so is AXXESS interface spend the money to get it done right.

Q: how long would it take for parts to get to the dealership??
i just got a new car and of course "we dont have any of those options in stock" its been a week now still no call on the parts its a 2008 Honda Ridgeline (yeah Honda where the hells the customer service) i got *remote start *back-up sensors *fog lights *running boards *brush guard im really pissed off at the dealer they didnt even call after i bought it NEVER GO TO FAIRFAX HONDA IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA im not going to install all that shit on a NEW car, and wtf why won't they have some of that in stock at the dealer

A: what you are saying .. you are awaiting shipment .is that the complaint.. it should take only 10 days maximum.. probably there was a problem.. you could have bought thease items locally and installed them yourself... i suggest that if you paid by credit card.. call the company customer service and protest the sale.. and also call the dealer.. dispute the sale to the credit card company... buy all you want at pepboys. or that other auto supply in virginia.. ok gilermol

Q: First Teenage Car?
Ok. I have been scouring the internet looking at all kinds of great cars that i could get. The deal with my parents is if I get a NROTC scholarship they will buy me a $22,000 car/truck/ whatever. Here are some of the vehicles I have been looking at: 2008 Toyota Tacoma, 2008 Scion Tc, 2005 Pontiac GTO, 2007 Volkswagen GTI, or a used Honda Ridgeline. I would like to have the functionality of a truck but it isnt a nesessity.

A: Have your parents looked at the cost of insurance for a new car and a brand-new teenage driver? The insurance costs might match the car payments! If it was me, you'd get an older car, probably something larger, and underpowered. My son is driving an 8 year old minivan. If I was limited to just the choices you list here, I'd probably go with the Ridgeline. There's no way I'd had a brand new anything to a kid driver, and the GTO and GTI have too much power to weight for you to deal with responsibly until you have 30-40,000 miles of experience under your belt. If I were to recommend other choices, you'd get a Chevy Astro van with a 4 cylinder or maybe small V6, or a big honking station wagon with a small V6. Whichever one you got, it would be at least 6-7 years old. And you might get the insurance bills, too, just so you know WHY you're driving a car that old.

Q: What kind of car should I get...please all opinions?
I am in the market to buy a new 2008 car within the next 2 weeks. I am looking for the following: -Safe for my kids (one is 3 and I am pregnant so the other will be a newborn in August) -following that is ease of access of getting the kids in and out of the car. -price range is $20,000 to $35,000 -Preferrable a SUV of sometype -and of course it comes fully loaded (power everthing, cruise control, etc...) I've looked at the Nissan Rogue, Acura RDX, and Honda CR-V. I absolutely love my Honda that I have now and I swore I would remain with Honda's but I don't really like the way the CR-V looks or any of the Honda's SUV's. What I really, really do love is the Honda Ridgeline but the mpg on that thing is just ridiculous...if the mpg weren't so low on it I wouldn't even ask this question and most likely go for that but it would cost me $80 dollars to fill up my tank and I just can't afford that. All opinions are welcome, especially those from experience..thxs..

A: drive a Honda CR-V it drives a lot better than it looks. the 4 cyl is good on mpg but powerful enough when you put your foot in it. the seats fold forward an flat for tons of room, get the awd and sunroof for fun. for low price options check out the Kia Rondo & Pontiac Vibe
