Q: Best exhuast system for a 1999 honda prelude SH?
I am looking more for power not sound. I have a 1999 Prelude SH with an AEM V2 intake and performance tires. Which headers and exhaust would be best for this car. I am also thinking about getting a throttle body spacer and new pullys. I would love to hear anybodys thoughts or suggestions about this cars.
Thanks in advance and I will do my best to choose a "best answer".
A: Nice car dude and for the exhaust the guy before me said the evo 2...yea thats pretty quiet and you will get like 1-2 hp gains BUT if u get any header it will increase to at least 5-10 hp and the header will probably give u five hp. When u buy the exhaust systems make sure to get a header too and make sure u buy the catback system because the catback system has everyting needed for the exhaust...muffler, piping, etc.
Now for the types of exhaust and headers. For the Exhaust u should get either the Greddy evo2 like the other guy said or the apexi world sport 2 because it is also very quiet(even quieter than the evo2) and it gets better Hp gains than the Evo2. For the header u should get a comptech header(if u can find one) beacause it is one of the best headers ever made. Said that it can reach up to a 8-10 hp gain but nobodies really sure. Any pullys will be fine as long as their light weight and the throttle body spacer u dont need to do becuase ur car should be fine the way it is. Sooooo have fun!

Q: 1999 Honda Prelude with bad gas mileage...problem?
I have a 1999 Honda Prelude SH with 41k miles and I'm only getting like 16mpg when the est. mpg is around 20pmg. Even while driving conservativly, 16mpg was my best. Need some suggestions/help.
A: Good cheap ways to get more mpg is to put a K&N air filter on, change the fuel filter, put in some fuel injector cleaner, and put in some new NGK spark plugs. Also make suer you change your oil regularly.
Q: do i need to buy new immobilizer if i dont have red key for 1999 honda prelude need master key?
A: no you dont need to buy it all you need to do is take or tow the car to the nearest honda dealer and have them make another key for that specific ecu and what they do is they just ask for any car keys you might have and they just make a new one and program it along with the red one so everything will just work fine again .hope i made sense.
Q: does DC header make a difference in horsepower and torque for a 1999 honda prelude sh?
A: Almost any header will make a fair difference in power. I won't quote any numbers specifically, but generally the best headers are full race headers that run into a single collector with no catalytic converter (4-1 race header). The other 4-2-1 headers make less top end power but improve low end torque around town. Generally I'd say go 4-1 every time. Here's a link to a few choices from different companies.

I'd also recommend getting an Intake and a FULL exhaust system if you haven't already...otherwise you won't see much for gains. Good luck!
Q: Headlight Fuse on a 1999 Honda Prelude?
If I am not mistaken, there is an inline fuse for the headlights. If so, exactly where is the fuse located?
A: you have two headlight fuses in the under hood fuse and relay box. Each is a 20 amp fuse; one is for the right headlamp and the other is for the left headlamp. If only one light doesn't work it could be the fuse or the bulb. If neither works its probably the headlight relay that is also located in the underhood fuse and relay box.
that underhood fuse and relay box is located in the passenger rear of the engine compartment. It has a black lid on it that is about 5" x 3". The underside of the lid usually has a diagram to identify the fuses and relays.
if the box isn't in the right rear of the engine compartment it will be in the driver's side front of the engine compartment
hope that answers your question
Q: will a 1999 honda prelude engine fit inside a 1991 honda accord?
A: yes, the H22A4 has the same dimensions as the F22A1 (or maybe you have the EX which is the F22A4 or SE which is F22A6) you have in it now. It also should have the same mounting points, so you don't have to worry about fabricating engine mounts. Your only problem is that your year of accord has an OBD-1 Emissions engine and computer and the 99 prelude is OBD-2. This has made this swap pretty much impossible if you want to have everything to run the engine and everything else in the car. Try the 93-96 prelude vtec because that is what would meet the emissions requirements on your car (it is OBD-1 as well). Sorry about your luck, the H22A4 is superior because it has the ability to get its engine sleeved, but the horsepower is worth it.
Q: can i put an engine from a 1999 honda prelude motteggi 2.2l into a 1997 honda del sol crx esl?
A: yes it will fit, you need special motors and make sure you do your timing belt, water pump and any other maitaince. By the way people who say CRX what del sol yes that is what its called in japan and europe
Q: 1999 honda prelude multi cylinder missfire code?
changed front o2 sensor, plugs, plug wires ,cap ,button after that it ran good for about 4 weeks. Some times hard start & ruff idol
A: A multi-cylinder misfire affects all cylinders, not just one, so changing the spark plugs would not be the cure. You need to look for a device that affects all cylinders.
My first thought would be that you have an EGR valve that is hanging up causing an overly lean condition and misfire. That would also cause the hard start (too lean) and the rocky idle (way too lean). EGR valves fail because of carbon build up and the failure is not unusual. I'd think that is the first thing to check or replace.
Other possibilities are more remote--leaking vacuum lines, leaking intake gaskets, leaking head gaskets, fuel pumps that have too much or too little pressure, restricted air filters and things of that nature. The problem with those items in terms of your statement is that they don't "get bettter". EGR valves will stick and get 'unstuck' to fix themselves. gaskets, vacuum leaks and fuel pumps don't fix themselves.
contaminated fuel could also cause your problem. if the injectors are getting clogged that could cause the misfires. injectors are somewhat self purging and could unblock the clogs. You'll have to consider that possibility but its unlikely. Getting a tank of "bad" gas is more likely and that could 'fix' itself as you burn it off and replace it with new gas and it could repeat if you subsequently got another tank of gas with a high water quantity.
You've already changed the cap and rotor; the only other possibility in the ignition system that could cause the mult-cylinder misfire is the coil and that would be my second choice behind the EGR. Coils do break down over time and can cause your problem. It is usually the EGR or the ignition coil.
hope that helps
Q: how come my gas light wont turn on when low on fuel,1999 honda prelude?
A: The bulb may be burnt out.
Q: how do i change light bulb in 1999 honda prelude spoiler and no there are no screws on the lens can any 1 help
there are no screws on the light lens!! what do i do? please help
A: If it's not an aftermarket spoiler, it should be an LED bar that lights up the spoiler. You would have to get a whole new LED bar you can't just replace one.
If you look at between the trunk lid and spoiler, you should see where the LED bar ends. There should be a seam, a little bit below that should be either 3-4 screws, remove those and the panel will come off, giving you access to the LED bar, pull it out a bit and disconnect it. Then replace it with a new bar. They are pretty pricy from Honda.
Q: 1999 Honda Prelude. Are there any internals that have to be changed before adding a turbo more than 10 psi?
A: How many miles are on the motor? You could probly run it for a while, but eventually it will throw a rod or crap out. But hey, honda motors are a dime a dozen, throw in a new one
