Q: Which is best? A 2006 Honda Pilot SUV with full-time 4WD? Or the Pilot with 2WD and the VCM system?
VCM on the 2WD is variable cylinder management.
A: ALL WHEEL DRIVE IS THE WAY TO GO, IT WORKS MUCH BETTER THAN THE 2WD AND VCM. I HAD BOTH AND IN WINTER THE 4WD WORKS MUCH BETTER
Q: what fuel injectors are a direct physical fit for the 2006 Honda Pilot 3.5 V-6 engine?
A: to be 100% sure, remove one and note any and all numbers.....and with the help of a dealer/service/parts bloke he can double check the part numbers and see what else they fit...
Q: how to removed factory stereo from 2006 honda pilot w/ navigation and xm radio?
A: Dont you will need them
Q: I have a 2006 Honda Pilot with a Towing Package- I am looking to tow a boat that is 4800 lbs.?
I just purchased a new boat, and the darn thing is over the 4500 lbs that Honda advises as the maximum for the Pilot to tow. The boat's dry weight is 4800 lbs, so with gas and gear, its going to be pushing over 5000lbs. My question is, I'm only towing the boat 2-3 times a year, and for very short distances (the boat is kept docked most of the year and only pulled out for cleaning and winter storage). Am I going to do major damage to the SUV by doing this, or will I be ok? I know its not good to do for long drives, but for 2-5 miles, will it do any major damage to the transmission?
A: Think about this: how are you ever going to get that big boat up the ramp with your Pilot?
And, will you void your warranty by towing above the weight limit?
Additionally, when that big boat starts moving around behind you, won't it start tossing your Honda around like it isn't even there?
Solution in my mind: if you are towing short distances two or three times a year, rent or borrow a truck that is meant to tow this weight. If you offer rides on the boat, with a cocktail or two, you will be amazed how many people will volunteer to tow it for you.
Q: where can i get good roof racks for a 2006 Honda Pilot in the Sunnyvale (California) area? Tx.?
A: Try www.handaaccessories.com ---They have genuine Honda parts. I have found parts for my Accord on this site. They always had the best prices.
Q: In my 2006 honda pilot, my radio won't turn off when I take my keys out and open the door! Help?
Up until a few months ago, I never had problems with my pilot. When I take my keys out of the ignition and open the door, my radio doesnt turn off. It always turned off when I took my keys out (I didnt even need to open the door), its not like other cars where the radio stays on until you open the door. Today, I turned off the car, closed the door, and the radio stayed on for a good 30 to 40 seconds. This happens often, and other times the radio turns off right when I take the key out! What could be wrong? Anyone ever heard about this problem?
A: It may have a bad or sticking door switch. See what happens when you open the passenger side door or one of the rear doors. If the radio shuts off right away you know the problem is in the drivers door.

Q: COST - Whats the price you or someone you know paid for 2006 Honda Pilot LX or EX recently (excld Taxes)?
Also if you know the cost for Pathfinder (4wd, 3rd row) pls mention trim.
A: Got a 2006 Pilot EXL w/Navigation system, 2wd for around $28500.
Q: Are you happy with your Honda Pilot?
I am thinking about buying a 2006 Honda Pilot. I'm just wondering what you Honda Pilot owners think of your vehicle. Any negatives I sould be aware of?
A: 1000% satisfied, no regrets. After several months of research, comparing MPG, passenger and cargo room, etc., we purchased a 2006 EX-L in white. I am convinced there is no other SUV in this class that compares in value. This SUV is also amzingly styled. Note, the designers of this vehicle modeled it after the Land Rover Range Rover for it's box-y-ness.
As for areas of improvement, rear splash guards are not standard, even though the vehicle comes with front ones. I purchased a set through a local dealer and installed it myself. Additionally, the roof rack does not come with cross-bars if you want to utilize ski / travel box attachments.
Another highly recommended product are all-season floor liners for the front, rear, and the rear cargo tray.
I hope this helps. Best of luck with your decision!
Q: What honda dealers still have 2006 honda pilots with clearance prices?
A: Most Honda dealers have gotten rid of all their 06 inventory. I have looked for some 06 Ridgelines with little luck. If there are any 06 Pilots remaining your local dealer may be able to locate them for you. And, contrary to the popular post, they were running some pretty good deals on Pilots, below invoice price. I don't think it was specifically called "clearance" but it's the same thing.
By the way, good choice. We own an 06 Pilot. Best vehicle ever owned.
Q: Has anyone test driven both the Honda CR-V (2002-2006) and the Honda Pilot?
I would like to know what your thoughts are, how powerful is it, how roomy is it, comfort and value, and the gadgets on the dash.
A: I own a Honda CR-V and I love it. It comes with a picnic table in the back and the seats can fold all the way up to the front of the car with 1 easy motion. The middle console is collasible and the back seat has plenty of room. Mine came standard with a 6 CD changer and sunroof. It rides like your driving on a cloud!! Highly recommended!
