Q: How do you take out the thermostat in a 2000 Honda Passport?
I need to take out and replace my thermostat, but cant find it. Can someone either explain or send me to a website, whether free or pay site, that can help.
Ok.....Have you ever looked for the thermostat in a 2000 Passport? If it were not hard to find, i would not have posted this question here. Real answers only, please.
A: its not hard u will be able to see it
Q: We have a 2000 Honda Passport. Why will the key sometimes get stuck in the ignition? ?
This has happened twice now. We'll turn off the car and the key will not budge. We jiggle and jiggle it, make sure the car is in park, restart the car, drive it around a little, nothing works. The first time it came out after messing with it for about an hour, the last time it happened it took a few days. Then 'pop' miraculously it just came out!
Has this happened to anyone?
What's the deal?
A: Put a little sewing machine oil, LPS 1 or Jigaloo into the keyhole/tumblers. If that doesn't solve it, then it is the steering wheel lock, and the steering wheel must be pulled back to free the key. That's not bad, sometimes they never come out.
I certainly recommend a brand new dealer parts department key.
Q: do you think $5000 is a good deal for a 2000 honda passport?
i bought it a couple of wks ago. it only has 10500 miles no dents no smoking great condition.
A: Depends on mileage. Are you looking to buy or sell.
I feel if the mileage is 100,000 or lower it is a good deal to buy. and if it is rust free, dent free, smoke free.
I am a Honda/Acura head and won't trust anything but those, They are the most reliable and dependable makes and they hold value.
Q: i have a 2000 honda passport with a defective driver window switch. where can i buy a used one ? an can?
is there a way i can bypass it so i can raised the window?
A: use a jumper wire to add voltage to the window motor
Q: how do you check transmission fluid in a 2000 honda passport?
A: Check your owners manual, look in the glove box for it. One some cars it is a sealed system and you can not check it.
Q: rear seats wont unlock in a 2000 Honda Passport?
the seat part of the rear seat will not unlock even if the seat is unbolted. I removed 1 side finally & well lubed the lock, it worked twice & quit again. Is there a defect in the lock or is there some kind of adjustment to be made. Its a 2000 Honda Passport & only has 90k miles. PLEASE help before i need my jack!!!!
A: you will need a lock assembly, over time the locks get old and rusted from pop or water spilling on them causing them to rust, you could cut the wire going from lock to hinge and do it that way but the seat will not lock again, to be honest the passport is built by gm and Isuzu when they partnered in the late 90's. although Honda's are known for being reliable, you bought a gm production veh and after being a tech at Honda for 4 years, once these passports get to about 100k, they start falling apart for some reason. lets just put it this way, i was able to make a lot of money of Honda passports!!! start looking at a 03 pilot or something more reliable that wont hurt your pocket book in the long run. good luck
Q: what spark plugs would you install in a 2000 honda passport?
A: If this is just a regular spark-plug change and you have had no problems with fouling the previous set.
I would recommend Bosch Platinum plugs of the same heat range that you are removing. If however, you have had problems with fouling plugs, I would recommend that you go one heat range hotter plug. The folks at a good parts store can get you set up with correct stock number.
I use Bosch in my daily driver as well as my racing engines.

Bosch, NGK and Nippon-Denso spark plugs are all good.
Champion is a good plug as well.
I have just had really good results with the Bosch.
If you are changing plugs, think about new high quality wires at the same time.
Accell makes a good wire.

Q: I have a 2000 Honda Passport. How do I open the tailgate? Can't find any way to do this.?
A: my answer is try to check it out on auto repair shop first..
Q: i am looking a power window switch for a 2000 honda passport on the driver side if anyone know where i can get
one from please let me know it dont have to be new just working
A: The Honda Passport was an Isuzu Rodeo with a big Honda 'H' on the front. The Rodeo was a lot more common than the Passport, so check for both when looking for parts. I suggest calling around to the wreckers in your area. If you have to buy a new switch, I think the Isuzu dealer would be least expensive.
Q: transmission on 2000 honda passport?
i just bought the car i have no way to see if it has any transmission fluid in it and it goes in to reverse but not in to drive it dries to move but all it feels like it is in park so what could it be
A: Reverse gear in a Automatic transmission is a 1:1 ratio, that is why you are able to go in reverse easier then drive - if there is no DIP STICK - you will need to get under the vehicle there will be 2 drain areas, the one that is to the lowest point of the car is the drain and the one above it - will be the fill area.
You will need a OIL CATCH PAN for this - and have to use HONDA approved ATF DEX III fluid - it has a special addative that is only for hondas - DO NOT BUY the add in only fuild that they sell at the auto parts its not the same...
If you need futher help email me..
Good Luck
Q: 2000 Honda Passport Subwoofer.?
How would I get the power from my battery to my amp? I can't seem to find how to get through the firewall. Also, where can I ground it to?
A: Always a way through at the steering column sometimes easier from the drivers foot area rather then starting under the hood. wires, throttle cable etc. have to run into the engine from the drivers side, so i would peel back the carpet if checking under the hood was unsuccessful. Make your own ground, close to the amp as possible
Q: lift kit or suspension upgrade? for honda passport.?
I have a 2000 honda passport. My current suspension is way too soft! off-road or just street driving. I think that I just need to replace the suspension. That being the case, I have wanted to lift my truck for a while but haven't. Would a lift cost a lot more, or should I just spend some extra cash and get the lift? I also saw a company by the name of calmini that offers a 3" kit for just under $1000 is this a good kit, and does it give me everything
I'll need to get the job done?
thanks for your help!
A: Heres the skinny!
You have some options. Some guys have the calmini. Some others have gone to a nice system called airbags. Maybe you should look into it. And once its installed you can adjust them either way. For permament or temporary height..
Second look into a KLB suspension. It will remove your body roll, softness while allowing you more handling for power and speed.
Whatever you do, don't let someone talk you into using blocks.

back glass replacement for 2002 honda passport.
A: I would call a auto parts store that carries the glass to find out.
Q: Isuzu Rodeo/ Honda Passport fog light installation?
does anyone know how to install OEM fog lights on a 2000-2006 Isuzu Rodeo / Honda Passport? ( my car is already prewired, I just need to know how to mount the light and hook them up.)
A: From website:
Isuzu Rodeo Fog Lights
Isuzu Rodeo fog lights serve a purpose and that is to aid the driver in gaining clear visibility despite the heavy fogs in particularly dark or dim visibility states. Isuzu Rodeo fog lights are located just below the front bumpers but are mounted a little lower than the headlights. They basically perform a different function from that of the headlights. Fog lights illuminate rays which are below the normal line of sight which in turn minimizes the reflections or glares created and therefore the driver is able to see through adverse foggy conditions.
Driving entails a multitude of responsibilities towards your passengers, fellow motorists, and pedestrians. Thus, auto lights need to be essentially in good shape and in the best condition. Or else, you surely will get into big trouble, and worst is for you to get engaged into any untoward road mishaps. Accidents may either take away your own life as well as your passengers. Would you like that happen to you or to your loved ones? I think not.
Along with the headlights, fog lights come with the standard specifications of your Isuzu vehicle. Dont just rely on the headlights because each auto light has a designated function. Headlights light your path but the very big reflections made by them cause a lot of glares and reflections through dense fogs so visibility becomes a problem. Now with the fog lights installed in the vehicle, the lights that are illuminated are able to cut through and penetrate through the accumulated fog on the road so clear visibility on the part of the driver is achieved
.
You may never know what lies ahead of you when there is zero visibility due to fogs. Expect for the unexpected so never ever let your defective Isuzu Rodeo fog lights be left unnoticed and ignored. Go for lens replacement, check out the bulbs, and purchase aftermarket Isuzu Rodeo fog lights. Be responsible. Drive only when you are sure of all your car parts and equipments. Do not put your life and other peoples lives at stake. Secure your Isuzu Rodeo fog lights and be delighted with driving even in the foggiest weather conditions.
Q: Why is my cigarette lighter not working?
I have a 2000 Honda Passport. Both cigarette lighters have been working fine before today, I unplugged my Sirius radio to plug in a cell phone charger. When the charger didn't work, i plugged my Sirius back in and it didn't work either. Now, neither one of my cigarette outlets work and i can't figure out why. My fuses are good. That's the first thing i checked. I don't know where to go from here.
A: You need to push in the cigarette lighter for it to work.
