Q: I have a 1998 Honda Passport and I want to disconnect the factory alarm?
The truck will not start, I have lost my set of keys, with my alarm remote. I called pop-a-lock and had them unlock the door, where I have a spare key inside the truck, however this set the alarm off, and so I took the horn fuse out so it would shut up but that's why the truck will not start, what should I do??

A: get a key from Honda.what else! or stop trying to steal the truck

Q: What number is the fuse for the horn in a 1998 Honda Passport?

Q: How do I check the transmission fluid level in 1998 Honda Passport? There is no dipstick.?

A: Is the vehicle a manual? Then it has 2 specail plugs on the side of the transmission. One will be about the mid level, and one low. Of course the low will be the drain, and the mid level one is for the check and refill. If its an auto, not sure. Some companies experimented with some of their vehicles as a non service type thing.(stupid I think, as the transmission has to do alot of heavy work). Hope these help. Good luck.

Q: i have a 1998 honda passport and everytime i take off it jerks from the back?
and also when i am on the interstate and i am going 80-85 miles my truck makes a loud clocking noise from under the hood and then it stops for a while and does it again when driving 80-85. sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. can you tell me what this might be?

A: For The 98' Passport. You most likely have bad Rear Diff. If you hear a grinding noise with the jerking than that is it because the gears are unalligned. So to fix the problem you need a new Rear Differential. About the Truck Look at the Oil, and Belts. Your problem deffinitely sounds like a bad head (Which is Serious) Or even a bad Head Gasket. But check the Oil, and the belts, they will make alot of noise and if you are low on Oil you will hear a knocking noise.

Q: How do you replace honda passport 1998 alternator?

A: Pull the engine and put it some where fare away and than push the shell out of the way for a new Mustang.

Q: 1998 honda passport..is it possible it just need transmission fluid?
i have had the truck for 1 year and have never put in fluid. i don't have a stick

A: You should check the transmission fluid levels at least every time the oil is changed. More often in crappy weather. There should be a dipstick near the back of your engine, may be hard to find, its used similar to your oil dipstick. Its fairly cheap to get the transmission oil changed, its doesnt need to be done too often but if you have had it for a year there is no telling when it was last done, and its way cheaper than to spend $1800 plus on another transmission.

Q: 1998 Honda Passport question?
ive noticed lately that it's been leaking oil. Just at a glance, it looks like it's coming from around the spark plugs on the left side (if you're looking right at the motor). Obviously i'm not mechanically inclined....so what does it mean when it's leaking around the spark plugs? is this something i could have a friend fix....or too major of a problem? Any help I would appreciate. Thanks in advance and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

A: I used to have a Honda Passport and had alot of problems with it. My advice? Ask a friend that is mechanically inclined first than if they don't know take it to a professional. Just not Jiffy Lube they will rip you off.

Q: Any opinions about the 1998 Honda Passport EX 4x4?

A: If you're going to buy one, I advise against it. If you have one I wish you luck. This Honda isn't a Honda at all. It is actually an Isuzu Rodeo with different badging. To give you an idea of what to expect with one, an acquaitance of mine works for Isuzu Corp. She told me that the Rodeo had so many warranty repairs that Isuzu made no money on them. Honda even discontinued them because of quality issues. Buy at your own risk.

Q: Honda Passport 1998. I need help figuring out the 4X4 drive. Could anyone please help?
A while ago my family bought a Honda Passport 98. We had never had a 4X4 before. The car is in pretty good shape, we looked for some manual but we just couldn't seem to find one that explains how to drive the 4X4. About a month ago someone in our family got the gears stuck, we took it to a local mechanic and he charged around 75 dollars to unstuck the gears. We'd really appreciate any help in figuring out how to deal with the 4x4 drive specially now in the Winter time. Thanks a lot.

Q: I have a 1998 honda passport. Where is my in-line fuse? please help?
My alternator is not putting out power. after replacing alternator and battery

A: Off the top of my head, the only ‘in-line fuse’ that comes to mind is the one for the heating/air-conditioning system, and it is located behind the glove compartment – however, it really doesn’t sound like that’s what’s causing your problem. If you’ve replaced the alternator and the battery, and you’re still not getting power, it *might* be a bad ground, or *maybe* a corroded battery cable – both are somewhat common problems with the Honda Passport/Isuzu Rodeo. Also, if you purchased a re-manufactured alternator, it is *possible* that you simply got a bad one (it has happened to me twice now). If none of these possibilities seem to fit the bill, you might want to visit one of the online communities listed below, where there are hundreds-upon-hundreds of knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly Honda Passport/Isuzu Rodeo owners who would be glad to help you figure it out… Planet Isuzoo: http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/index.php 4x4Wire’s Isuzu Tech Forum: http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=UBB86 E-ZooZoo: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/E-ZooZoo/ Hope this helps.
