Q: how many pounds of freon does a 1995 honda passport take ?
how many pounds of freon does a 1995 honda passport take has been conv. to 134a the sticker under the hood has been romeved

A: it sounds like you are planning on adding it yourself. if this is correct then you need to get the kit with pressure gauge. it will tell you the pressure as you are adding 134a. the directions say never to add more than two cans. you can pick up a kit with a gauge for 28 bucks at walmart. do not overfill or u can damage compressor. good luck.

Q: Where can I find parts (especially window regulator) for a 1995 Honda Passport?
I am also interested in the solution to an electrical problem with the same car: All the interior dash lights went out! The headlights, dome & courtesy lights still work, but nothing else! I've had several repairmen try unsuccessfully to trace it down, but I have no confidence in the local dealer. Thanks for your help!

A: Ebay for the part and an online forum can help you with the problem. Search for a honda forum and ask the qustion there.

Q: We own a 1995 Honda Passport and are trying to change the belts out. How do we do that?

A: For starters if you are trying to do this yourself purchase a repair manual and you will probably need a serpentine belt tool. Can't remember off the top of my head if you can get a plain old socket in there to do it. There is a pivot point that you put the serpentine belt tool on and rotate the pivot point and the belt loosens up. Same for reinstalling it. It really is not that difficult once you know what you are doing. Make sure you follow the diagram when re installing it cause that belt makes a lot of turns and is quite difficult to remember without the diagram

Q: 1995 Honda Passport, Steering noise?
We have a 1995 passport that has a loud humming/rubbing noise coming from what sounds like the steering column. It tends to really only make the noise when turning to the left while driving. There is alot of play in the steering too. Anyone have any ideas? Sticking calipers on the brakes wouldn't cause that noise either would it?

A: You may just have low power steering fluid, - or you could have come kind of problem with the "steering rack", or steering "gear box". These are the two main types of steering setups used in cars! If you have the steering box, rather than "rack", - it may still be adjustable to get the "play" out! However Have somebody turn the wheel back and forth, - while you look down where the steering column hooks to the "steering" under the hood" There is a "flexible coupling" there that connects to steering stuff, if it is bad there will be play in the wheel even if the rest of steering s tight! -- If you have "rack and pionion" steering, there is very little adjustment that can be done, --and if it is bad, -it will nave to be replaced!

Q: 1995 Honda Passport 3.2l v6. Better to rebuild or replace?
My motor on my 95 Honda Passport. 3.2l v6 rattles like a desile. I have almost 250,000 miles. Would I be better off getting one from the junkyard or a crate motor from a chain or machine shop?

A: I'm facing the same issue with my 95 Honda Passport. Rebuilt motors run about $3300 (plus installation). Low-mileage used motors seem impossible to find. I plan to just run it until it dies, then buy something else.

Q: 1995 Honda Passport. Just changed CAT and check EGR. Wont pass smog. What else?
I just got the CAT changed and the EGR valve checked. What else is there to do? I talked to the shop that did it and they said that there is no timing adjustment to these which is kind of weird. Its so close to passing smog. Would changing spark plugs help at all? Yea I also forgot to add that it doesn't come up to temp all the way. I am not sure what its doing that though. Maybe the thermostat is getting stuck open?

A: Sell it. Seriously, the Passport is the ugly stepchild of the Honda Family... It's the Isuzu Trooper with a different badge. Seriously, if you want to save money in the long run sell it and buy a CRV if you like a real Honda.

Q: 1995 Honda Passport overheating?
Tonight I was driving around in my Passport and noticed the temp guage was close to the red. Guessing it was the radiator, I headed for a gas station to get some water. As I was doing so, the oil light came on. When I got to the gas station, I checked the radiator and oil levels, and both were normal. Just to be safe, I topped off the radiator and put in a quart of oil. But as soon as I started driving it again, the temp went back up, and the light came back on. The oil light goes away when I am accelerating, but when I am idling it comes back on. Any ideas?

A: hot engine(check to be sure your cooling fan or fans are working to cool the radiator)if it still runs hot and they are working next check that your thermostate is opening at the manufactures recomended heat if not replace it ,or if you haven't for some time I would anyway to rule it out [less than a $7.00 part to change and can save big bucks later ](check for bubbles coming up in your coolant at the fill cap)if this is the case you may have hot compression getting into your cooling system causing an overheat but not always enough to cause it to push out antifreeze.checking compression will verify a blown head gasket between cylinders into the water jacket.check your oil for water it will be a milky grey or can also be light brown depending on the oil and content of water.OIL thins out at high temperatures and drops the oil pressure causing the light to come on.reving/accelerating brings the pressure back up . caution reminder ! As with any vehicle be careful around animals with antifreeze it is lethal in most cases if they drink it .

Q: does anyone know why the back brakes stick on a 1995 honda passport?

A: More then likely your master cylinder is wearing out and not releasing all the pressure. (if your having problems with both wheels) hey it's old man. If it's just one wheel or the other then it could be an over active auto adjuster....just reset it and don't do so many hard stops in reverse

Q: DOES 1995 HONDA PASSPORT V6 HAVE HYDRAULIC VALVES

A: no. the owner's manual calls for the inspection and adjustment of the valve clearance every 15,000 miles hope that helps

Q: 1995 honda passport , why my battery and brake light is on ?
i have checked the alternator and is ok , also have a new battery on it , checked all fuses and relays and all ok , the alternator was checked at the auto parts store and was ok , when i istalled back in the light was still on and if i take the positive terminal off the car will shut off , please help me

A: when you took positive cable off and it died shows that altenator is not able to run engine . altenator should be able to run engine all the lights air conditioner or heater at the same time without battery cable .

Q: Sticking/non working power locks, 1995 Honda Passport?
Locks stick now and then or act like they have unlocked but are still locked. Key won't open on onside when acting up. Any ideas?
